We were so pleased to have the opportunity to feature on a recent ‘Ask Suzanne’ podcast with our Chief Executive Suzanne Rankin and colleagues, discussing our Dementia Friendly Hospital Charter.
Versha Sood, Improvement and Development Manager for Dementia, discussed the measures being undertaken by the Regional Partnership Board to support people living with dementia, their families and their carers when they come into contact with our hospitals in any way, shape or form, in a dementia friendly way. The presentation outlined best practice, and principles to ensure that hospitals provide person centred care and respect the needs of people living with dementia.

Various research and evidence studies show that people living with dementia are are likely to stay in hospital four times longer than those without, and people with undiagnosed dementia are three times more likely to attend hospital, therefore this charter is so important when looking at how we care for people living with dementia and keep them well.
