In the recent Strategic Leadership Group meeting, members approved the submission of capital development applications for the following projects: Cherrydale Bungalows Adult Supported Living Scheme, Cardiff at a cost of £1,187,326 Glamorgan Adult Learning Disability Scheme, Barry at a cost of £5,508 5 bed Apartment Property, Cardiff Children’s Services Scheme at a cost of £1,028,934.60.

Dementia

Agreed the use of additional £100k to further develop the role of Dementia Connectors. A connector is allocated to the individual at the time of dementia diagnosis to help navigate the complex health and social care system to enable timely support. This takes away additional burden off the unpaid carer and the person with diagnosis.

Financial Reporting

Re-emphasised support for all colleagues in complying with financial reporting requirements for all funding streams relating to the RPB. Separate correspondence has been shared with all operational leads and financial colleagues to ensure accuracy of reporting for Q2. (Click here for more info) The SLG intends to consider required actions to ensure a break even position at the end of 24-25 along with initial draft budgets for 25-26 to its next meeting for consideration.

The SLG will play a fundamental role in ensuring a co-ordinated response to a variety of emerging Welsh Government requirements including: Care Action Committee requirements to assist delivery of an Integrated Community Care System; Winter Planning 24/25 Package of Care Delays. 2 new statutory codes of practice which have now come into force: National Framework of the Commissioning of Care and Support Code of Practice Part 2 Code of Practice (General Functions)
