On Friday 24th January, YMCA England & Wales opened their ‘Adref’ building with a wonderful opening ceremony, attended by Jenny Rathbone MS and Jo Stevens MP, Secretary of State as well as YMCA CEO Andrew Templeton.
‘Adref’ is an exemplary project with an industry leading ‘green’ design helping to meet the desperate need for more affordable social housing. Adref supports young people at risk of homelessness marking a new chapter for YMCA Cardiff and for the young people who will now have a safe and supportive place to call home. Each unit has its own air source heat pump, and the new site will soon house 18 young people, with 11 moving in as soon as next week.
