Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board (RPB) were delighted to attend the Learning Disability Wales Annual Conference on 14 November — a brilliant, energising day that brought together people with lived experience, families and carers, and professionals from across Wales.
The event offered a real opportunity to listen, learn and connect. RPB team members spent the day hearing directly from people with learning disabilities about what matters most to them, alongside powerful conversations with carers and frontline staff. These insights are invaluable as we continue shaping services and improving support across health and social care.

Throughout the day, we explored the big themes that matter to our region — from access, inclusion and communication to how we can strengthen engagement and better understand people’s needs across both the health system and our wider partnership.
We were proud to be part of such an inspiring event, and deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to speak with us. Your voices directly inform our work, and the conversations held at the conference will help shape the next phase of the Population Needs Assessment and our ongoing regional plans.
If you’d like to get involved in future engagement or share your own experiences, keep an eye on our website and social media channels for upcoming opportunities.
