1. Shaping Services for the Future, Together
Launched in early August, this landmark engagement campaign invites local communities to help shape a 10-year health and care strategy for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The RPB plays a key role in ensuring the process is truly partnership-led and co-produced—bringing together the NHS, local authorities, third sector partners, and people with lived experience. Our goal is to make sure every voice is heard, from seldom-heard communities to frontline professionals, so the final strategy reflects the diverse needs of our region.
We’re calling on everyone to complete the survey and have their say in Shaping Services for the Future, Together:

We also encourage community groups, organisations, and event organisers to consider inviting the UHB engagement team to attend local gatherings, fairs, or meetings to discuss the plan in more detail and ensure as many perspectives as possible are captured.

3. RPB Team News
A call was published at the end of July for the recruitment of an Improvement and Performance Manager aimed to strengthen RPB capacity—underscoring our commitment to inclusivity and professional diversity within our delivery teams.
We are delighted to share that Colleen Eley, a valued current member of the RPB team, has successfully secured this role. Congratulations to Colleen on this fantastic achievement and the valuable expertise she will continue to bring to our work.
4. Opening Doors to Brain Workout
A dementia awareness event held on 7 August celebrated the two-year milestone of the Opening Doors programme.

Based at the India Centre, it featured personal stories, performances, and co-produced resources—including a dementia prevention film and community language handbooks—demonstrating culturally tailored, inclusive engagement. You can read the full write up of this fabulous event here
