Have your say on support for people with learning disabilities

We are inviting people to take part in engagement to inform the Learning Disabilities chapter of the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Population Needs Assessment (PNA).

The Population Needs Assessment is a statutory assessment carried out by health, local authorities and partners. It helps us understand current and future care and support needs, identify unmet need and inequalities, and inform service planning and commissioning across the region.

Surveys now open

As part of this work, we have launched a set of short surveys to gather views from different perspectives. These surveys are designed to sit alongside wider engagement activity and ensure that lived experience, carer insight and professional knowledge all help shape the Learning Disabilities chapter.

There are three surveys available and you can click on the appropriate link to access the survey:

Each survey takes around 10–15 minutes to complete and responses are anonymised.

How to take part

All surveys are hosted on our Engagement HQ platform via the Shine Together page.

Shine Together is the new Learning Disability Network for Cardiff and Vale, and it is currently in development. The network is for people with learning disabilities, their families, carers, and professionals.

The team will be running workshops soon to help shape and grow the network. Please join the network to stay updated and get involved.

Please choose the survey that best reflects your role or experience. We would also encourage organisations and professionals to share the surveys with people they support, colleagues and partner networks.

Or they can be accessed via the links in the section above.

Accessibility

The survey for people with learning disabilities has been designed to be clear and accessible and can be completed independently or with support from someone they trust. Feedback from people with lived experience will be used to refine materials, including Easy Read versions where appropriate.

What happens next

What people tell us will be used to:

  • Inform the Learning Disabilities chapter of the Population Needs Assessment
  • Help identify key needs, gaps and priorities
  • Shape future planning and partnership working

We will share updates and summaries of findings on Engagement HQ as this work progresses.
