Community and voluntary organisations across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan are invited to apply for funding through the Third Sector Capital Fund 2026/27.
The Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board has allocated £100,000 from the Welsh Government’s Housing with Care Fund to support projects that help people live independently within their communities. The fund is managed and administered by Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS).
Organisations can apply for grants of up to £12,500 towards capital projects that improve community services and support people with care and support needs. Funding can be used to enhance facilities, improve accessibility, purchase capital equipment and develop community spaces that enable people to remain independent for longer.
The fund is particularly focused on projects supporting:
- Older people, including people living with dementia
- Children and young people with complex needs
- People with learning disabilities, neurodiverse and neurodevelopmental conditions
- Unpaid carers
- People with emotional health and mental wellbeing needs
Successful projects should demonstrate how they will:
- Support independent living within local communities
- Deliver services closer to home
- Help prevent the need for more formal health and social care services
- Build on community assets and local resources
- Deliver lasting benefits for local people.
Applications are open now and must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 31 July 2026. All funding must be spent by 26 February 2027.
