Competition: Advertise our Young Carers Charter
Cardiff and Vale RPB is delighted to announce the launch of a competition for young people to promote the Cardiff and Vale Young Carers Charter to Young Carers across our region.
A young carer is someone aged 18 and under who cares for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.
Young carers are really important to us, to the communities where they live and to the people they care for. The Cardiff and Vale Young Carer’s Charter provides support for young carers and the people they care for. It is important for young carers to be cared for themselves. For this reason, we are asking young people to put forward their best ideas to make sure young carers know there is support for them.
We are encouraging classes/groups of young people to be as creative as possible and submit a short film, voice note or cartoon that could be used across social media.
This competition is open to schools, youth clubs and other groups and organisations who are supporting people in key stage 3 (Years 7-9), both in and out of school.
The competition will be judged by a panel, including young carers themselves and the winning entries will be used to promote the Charter.
The winning entry will receive a voucher that can be spent in a range of places including Argos, WH Smith and Waterstones to buy resources that can be used by everyone in the class/group.
The last date for entries is 30 June.
