Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board Conference 2026.
As Chair of the Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board, I am delighted to welcome you to our annual conference and I am very much looking forward to joining colleagues, partners, citizens and stakeholders from across our region on 19 June.
This conference provides a valuable opportunity for us to come together to celebrate achievements, share learning and explore how we can continue to strengthen partnership working to improve outcomes for people across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Bringing together representatives from health, social care, housing, the third sector and our communities, the day reflects our shared commitment to working collaboratively to meet the needs of citizens now and in the future.
The programme showcases the breadth of work taking place across our partnership and offers opportunities to hear from inspiring speakers, participate in workshops, connect with colleagues and learn more about the innovative work being delivered across our region. Whether through discussions on integrated community care, neurodiversity, the first 1,000 days or system leadership, I hope the day will encourage new ideas, strengthen relationships and inspire future collaboration.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the planning of the conference, including our speakers, workshop facilitators, marketplace exhibitors and award nominees. Your dedication and commitment continue to make a positive difference to the lives of people across Cardiff and the Vale.I encourage you to make the most of the opportunities throughout the day – visit the marketplace, engage in conversations, share your experiences and join us in recognising the outstanding contributions being made through partnership working across our region.

Workshops
All attendees had the option to choose two workshops from the below, the workshops will run twice, once during the morning and once during the afternoon, each attendees allocated workshops are indicated on their lanyards with the below colour coding, in order of attendance.
First 1000 Days
What happens in the first 1,000 days of life has the potential to break intergenerational cycles of disadvantage and support the wellbeing of future generations. This session will hear about the difference this has made and build what we can do to drive this change.
Integrated Community Care System
Following from the ICCS Summit, this session will give an overview of how the work has developed and will form a discussion around how we embed integrated ways of working and consider how we can best work with communities to shape services.
Neurodivergence
We had the opportunity to “think differently” about neurodivergence last year and work has continued to explore what is needed for neuro affirming support that better meets peoples needs. This workshop is an opportunity to learn more about what a future neuro inclusive society could look like and how we can each contribute to enabling the cultural shift needed to move towards one.
Leading Change in a Partnership World
This masterclass will be led by members of the Dragon’s Heart Institute, exploring what it takes to lead change at all levels across our partnership.

We encourage attendees to get involved by submitting questions in advance of the conference or by using Mentimeter during a short window at the start of the day. Questions can relate to any aspect of the conference programme, partnership working, integrated care and support, or future priorities for Cardiff and the Vale.
